Perlimpinpin Bamboo
Why Choose Perlimpinpin bamboo?
Bamboo has an incredibly soft texture and outstanding breathability. By its natural features, bamboo fiber is called an "intelligent" fiber. It evaporates excess moisture while maintaining the comfort of a tempered body heat. This makes it the preferred textile for delicate baby skin, especially those who have eczema.
Moreover the fast growing root network (in dedicated agricultural fields) allows a very fast regeneration; no need to add fertilizers or chemicals to help grow. This brings to a very low environmental impact.
Our bamboo fiber is Oeko-tex certified. This is a certification system by an internationally recognized & independent firm.
The main purpose of this organization is to ensure compliance and safety of ingredients and processes used in textile manufacturing process.
Here's how :
* Various tests to detect the presence of: banned azo dyes, formaldehyde, pentachlorophenol, cadmium, nickel, lead and several other harmful chemicals on the fiber.
* Regular visits to factory sites to ensure they meet sensible requirements in a sustainable manner to the responsible use of chemicals. No chemicals are released into the nature and no worker is exposed to chemicals (closed loop).
The more sensitive the contact of a product with the skin is the more restrictive the ecology and human requirements are. For our bamboo, the level to be respected is the highest (Classified 1) since the fiber is intended for baby use.
Why is it called Viscose from bamboo?
This is a way of converting the fiber into a textile. Bamboo fiber alone cannot be spun , it needs to be extracted , then transformed to make it a textile. Its many properties make it a sensible choice for today's parents: softness, breathability, antibacterial, hypoallergenic, UV rays protectant, minimizes CO2 emissions and generates more oxygen than most trees.
Once transformed, is the bamboo fiber (also called viscose) still breathable?
Of course! Bamboo fiber is naturally breathable and wicks moisture away from the skin. Due to the precious properties of the fiber, the bamboo fabric allows moisture to evaporate quickly into the air. Its touch is silky and incomparably comfortable.
Is bamboo eco-friendly?
Bamboo is a natural & renewable material; Ecological, 100% biodegradable, it grows without the need for pesticides or chemicals. Bamboo grows extremely fast, up to one foot per day! Bamboo fiber is naturally antibacterial, hypoallergenic and regulates body temperature. It is also resistant to mold, thanks to its porosity. It is a breathable fabric that also lets moisture and perspiration evaporate. Viscose from bamboo is considered ecological as its primary source is naturally renewable!
